David Yuen Pawn Blocking

Pawn blocking for my Creature Animation

Marco Blocking

Hiya class,

Here is my planning for the final assignment. It's a cat playing with a thing on the stairs. It starts from the bottom of the left page, up, then over to the right, and then down. This is the sort of framing I was thinking of:

JuYoungJaung_blocking for the Final

Hello everyone. These are my stories for the final. Which one do you like it? Which one is more interesting? The little black moving square is a bug in both of stories. In the first story, the fox will scratch his ear after chasing the bug and go out to the right side of frame.

This is my second story.

ALVIN: QUICK CAT NOTES

KARL...... If you go to the cats tab of this blog, There is a link to a 45 minute video of William Groebe talking about the tippet cat rig. If you haven't already seen it I suggest watching it before you touch the rig.

MasterClass - Animating Animals: Tips and Tricks to Animating Believable Animal Characters in a Live Action Feature by William G from CGMeetUp Team on Vimeo.

Also;he uses an updated version of the rig in the video. i.e the Hip and chest Ik controls(similar to the ones in Rhett horse) are non existent on the actual rig we have. so if you intend to make the cat rig turn you have to visually make the rig do that. You can use pivots like Dave Latour explains on his vimeo channel

Constraint Demo 6: Tumbles and Swings from David Latour on Vimeo.

but understand that that will get you a general positioning so you can animate over it. (PREFERRED IF YOU WORK IN A LAYERED FASHION) If you work pose to pose. you could use "BH GHOST"(see below) which will enable you to easily pose your cat out that way you can force the rig to do exactly what you need. Its kinda like drawing it out. http://www.graphite9.com/MayaDownloads.html

hope that helps.....just ask if you have any qns.

Jon Hanson - Mocap Final

Hey everyone, here's my final Motion Capture!

Hope everyone had a good week!

An_Nguyen_Mocap

Hi guys hope you all are doing fine.
Here is my progression so far on the mocap. Been having a pretty bad fever since last week so it slowed me down quite a bit.
For the animation, i think my arms are messed up. They cant stay stable on the ground as i want them to be. I guess its because of the FK handles(should switch it?). And also somehow i cant find my face controller. I checked my outliner and still cant find it.

Hi all, Hope you are doing well. This is my mocap cleanup.

Jon Hanson: Trot to Gallop

Hey everyone, just wanted to post my final combined cycles here for future reference and in case any of you have anything to add or whatever.

Excited to be done with this horse!
It was nice seeing all your work guys, have fun animating everyone!

Cabrera_Karl_CY

Here's my current pass of the trot-gallop cycle. I still see some popping issues and the transition feels "bleh". I'll probably keep working on this outside class. :)

Kyle Remus - Rider_2

Addressed root rotation note, as well as leg movement. I also added some variety to the rider's movements.
I figure it's good enough for a week's work - but I'd like to polish it up more. Thanks to everyone for your feedback :)

Kyle Remus - Rider

Hi folks,

I added a rider to my horse - definitely a lot trickier than I thought it would be, especially with that rifle amplifying everything wrong with his hand movement at the moment.

Here's the videos I was looking at for reference :
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WbUfBN8HjU

I plan to have everything polished by Thursday morning. Any feedback is very much appreciated.
Cheers :)
